'Boutique Hotel For Special Occasions'
The Zanzibar Hotel is a great example of an award winning 'boutique hotel for special occasions'. We are situated right by the sea in Hastings and St Leonards, less than 2 hours from London and approximately an hour from Brighton.
Based in Sussex and with only 8 uniquely designed hotel rooms, the intimate atmosphere and warmth of the staff set this place apart as one of the country's leading boutique hotels. Wedding anniversaries and big birthday celebrations are their forte. The award-winning restaurant 'Pier Nine' enhances the experience and means you can stay in the luxury of the hotel (or even your own room if you opt for room service).
It's the ideal place to spend reconnecting with loved ones and a beautiful venue to bring people together in celebration of a special occasion. Dinner in the restaurant is a treat.
sea view suites and rooms have all been designed to offer calmness and tranquility in a luxurious, romantic environment. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed but that doesn't compromise the professional level of service on offer.
If its your partners 40th birthday coming up and you're at a loss for what to do that's complete quality, a little bit quirky and very original, then The Zanzibar hotel in Hastings, within easy reach of Rye or Brighton is perfect. We're constantly catering for 'wedding anniversaries' near to London and celebrations are what we do best. Have a look at our Tripadvisor reviews if you're in any doubt. Everyone seems to agree that it's a real treat. If the inquiry is 'what to do for my wife's 40th birthday', or 'what to do for my husbands 40th birthday', then a night in an award-winning boutique hotel may well be the answer. What's more, you get to enjoy the experience too!

Our guest rooms and suites are all designed with your well-being in mind. Some have large spa baths in the rooms and one of our rooms even has it's own steam and sauna. They all have full band-width, high speed Wi-Fi connection which is perfect for working or watching films during your stay or for business people needing to get on with things in the tranquility of the room. Our focus is on creating a calm atmosphere with plenty of creature comforts. In many of the rooms we have smart tv's that provide access to Facebook and Netflix. Our wi-fi connection speed is excellent throughout.
The Zanzibar Hotel was the first 'Boutique Hotel with sea views in Sussex'. It followed hot-on-the-heels of The Pelirocco in Brighton but that does not have sea views. Since then many others have opened. There are lots of small 'boutique B&B and hotel in Hastings Old Town'. They are all very well if you're not bothered about staying in someone elses house, but you cannot compare to the level of service, the privacy or the intimacy afforded here. If you'd prefer to stay in and enjoy each others company, the addition of an excellent restaurant has really transformed the hotel into a romantic destination that means you can really indulge yourselves. Zanzibar is arguably the 'best boutique hotel within 2 hours of London' because of its sea view location and its restaurant. We also have an excellent selection of films in our DVD library. If you feel the need to stay in the room and properly relax, everything is to hand.
Hastings, Rye, Brighton and Sussex now all boast excellent offerings but none have received the plaudits and accolades that The Zanzibar has seen. Conde Nast Traveler described it as 'world class', The Times newspaper gave it the highest possible score in a secret hotel shopper review and then voted it in its list of 'the UK's best hotels'. We have an 'award-winning restaurant in Hastings' at the hotel as well as a very intimate bar serving cocktails and bar snacks to residents and locals. Our Garden is a treat in the Spring and Summer, and better than anything you'll find in Hastings Old Town. We are the only restaurant locally with al-fresco dining facilities. Even when the weather is on the turn it's possible to sit under cover with the heaters on and indulge in a bit of star gazing over dinner!
Five star hotels with sea views are no longer limited to Brighton.
Hastings and Rye may not be on everybody's radar, but they are a treat when you get here. We have a very flat seafront promenade which is ideal for walking or bike riding, and at low tide it's possible to walk all the way along the sand to the De La Warr Pavillion in Bexhill.
There is a lot of free parking on Warrior Square, next door to the hotel. However, we have a secure hotel car park if you prefer, and in 'Hastings Old Town' parking can be a problem. 'Where to eat in Hastings Old Town' is relatively easy once you've found somewhere to park! We recommend you park with us and make the 15 minute walk into the old town on foot. Any decent restaurant will call a taxi for your return journey back to the hotel. Alternatively eat in at our award-winning restaurant 'Pier Nine'. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the food is excellent. Better still, you can stagger up to your room and call it a night without having to leave.
We have a 2 night stay policy on Saturdays.
£40 for a single night stay on a Saturday night (subject to availability).
